Interlink Shipping Line Pte. Ltd. is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to maintain, repair, and install electrical systems onboard vessels and within company facilities. The successful candidate will ensure the reliable operation of navigation equipment, lighting systems, communication systems, generators, switchboards, and auxiliary electrical equipment while complying with maritime safety standards and company procedures.
ELECTRICIAN
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience as an Electrician, preferably in the maritime, marine, industrial, or heavy equipment sector.
- Technical Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant electrical trade certification or electrical license is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, generators, switchboards, electrical controls, lighting systems, and communication equipment.
- Experience in troubleshooting electrical faults, preventive maintenance, and electrical system testing.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Proficient in using electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, insulation testers, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair marine electrical systems onboard vessels and within company facilities.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults affecting vessel operations and implement effective corrective actions.
- Service and maintain generators, switchboards, lighting systems, communication equipment, control systems, and other electrical components.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance, testing, and inspections to ensure electrical equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Perform fault diagnosis and repairs on emergency engine shutdown systems for the main engine, generators, and gearbox.
- Monitor the performance of electrical systems and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain accurate electrical maintenance records, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
- Ensure compliance with maritime electrical standards, workplace safety regulations, and company maintenance procedures.
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, equipment failures, and vessel breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers, Marine Engineers, and other technical personnel during maintenance, repair, and vessel overhaul projects.
- Maintain electrical tools, testing instruments, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Perform other related duties assigned by management.
