Enviro Plant Hire Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with heavy machinery, trucks, and earth-moving equipment, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.
DIESEL MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Graduate of a four-year undergraduate course (Mechanical Engineering or related preferred) or equivalent.
- Extensive experience working with earth-moving equipment, preferably HITACHI, KOMATSU, and CATERPILLAR.
- Experience with ISUZU and VOLVO trucks is an advantage.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmission systems, and hydrostatic drive systems.
- Electrical knowledge and diagnostic software experience is an advantage.
- Proficiency in using computers for maintenance and diagnostics.
- Eligible for an Australian truck license.
- Experience working on construction sites and regional deployment of equipment.
- Good English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and able to work in challenging environments.
- High school graduate with at least two semesters of college, or passed IELTS/PTE.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repairs simultaneously.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance procedures in heavy machinery maintenance.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail in mechanical troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components.
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies and other mechanical parts for inspection and repair.
- Repair or replace worn and defective parts, and reassemble components according to service manuals.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to optimize equipment performance.
- Test and adjust mechanical components after repair to ensure proper functionality.
- Use diagnostic software and computers to assist in troubleshooting and testing.
- Maintain records of maintenance and repairs performed.
- Work on construction gear and equipment on-site, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Assist with mechanical and technical support for regional deployments of machinery.
