CNC LATHE MACHINE OPERATOR

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the Metals and Plastics manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience setting up and operating 2-axis CNC lathes/turning machines, particularly Haas ST35.
  • Strong CNC programming skills, both on-machine and using a laptop.
  • Experience with Siemens controls is an advantage.
  • Experience with Esprit CAD/CAM is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and machining specifications.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Strong accuracy, precision, and attention to detail.
  • Practical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of CNC turning processes, tooling, workholding, cutting parameters, and machine setup.
  • Ability to identify and correct machining defects and dimensional problems.
  • Good knowledge of workplace safety and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good English communication skills.
  • Must hold a Diploma/Certificate in CNC Machining, Machinist, Mechanical Technology, or a related course.
  • Reliable, responsible, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining high-quality production standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate 2-axis CNC lathes/turning machines, including Haas ST35.
  • Prepare CNC machines, workpieces, cutting tools, fixtures, and related equipment for production.
  • Program CNC machining operations directly on the machine and using a laptop.
  • Adjust CNC programs, machine parameters, cutting speeds, feeds, and tooling as required.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and machining instructions.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools and workholding equipment.
  • Set work offsets, tool offsets, and other machine parameters accurately.
  • Monitor machining operations to ensure consistent production and product quality.
  • Perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, threading, and other CNC machining operations as required.
  • Inspect finished and in-process components using precision measuring instruments.
  • Measure dimensions and tolerances to verify that machined parts meet specifications.
  • Identify machining defects, dimensional deviations, tool wear, and production irregularities.
  • Make necessary adjustments to machine settings, tooling, and programs to maintain quality.
  • Troubleshoot CNC machine, tooling, programming, and machining problems.
  • Perform tool changes and replace worn or damaged cutting tools when required.
    Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
  • Follow established production procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Keep machines, tools, work areas, and equipment clean and properly maintained.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to improve machining efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Perform other CNC machining and production duties assigned by management.
