BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
• Must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Engineering (Civil) or similar fields.
• Proven experience in building maintenance, facility maintenance, construction, repair, or renovation works.
• Knowledge of building fabric maintenance, including walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, and waterproofing.
• Ability to conduct building inspections and accurately identify defects and maintenance requirements.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Skilled in handling minor renovation, repair, and finishing works.
• Good understanding of building materials, repair methods, and maintenance procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, supervisors, technicians, contractors, and other facility personnel.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on maintenance work.
• Able to work on-site and respond to building maintenance requirements as needed.
• Responsible, hardworking, organized, and safety-conscious.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect building structures and finishes to identify defects, damage, deterioration, and maintenance requirements.
• Maintain the building fabric, including walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, waterproofing, and related components.
• Conduct regular inspections of walls, floors, ceilings, doors, and other building elements.
• Identify cracks, leaks, water damage, loose or damaged finishes, and other building defects.
• Perform minor repair and renovation works on building structures and finishes.
• Carry out repairs to damaged walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, and other building components.
• Perform basic waterproofing repair and maintenance works as required.
• Repair or replace damaged building fixtures and finishing materials.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities to minimize deterioration and unexpected building defects.
• Perform corrective maintenance and promptly address reported building-related problems.
• Assess the condition of building components and recommend appropriate repair or maintenance actions.
• Measure and assess areas requiring repair, replacement, renovation, or restoration.
• Assist in preparing materials, tools, and equipment required for building maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper preparation and application of repair and finishing materials.
• Monitor completed repair works to ensure proper workmanship and acceptable finishing quality.
• Coordinate with facility supervisors, engineers, technicians, contractors, and other departments regarding maintenance requirements.
• Respond to maintenance requests and attend to building-related defects within the required timeframe.
• Maintain records of inspections, reported defects, completed repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Report major structural defects, safety concerns, water intrusion, or other significant building problems to supervisors or engineers.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Follow company procedures, facility standards, and applicable workplace safety requirements.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing maintenance and repair activities.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, functional, and presentable building environment.
• Perform other building maintenance and facility-related duties assigned by management.
