AGRICULTURAL ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as an Agricultural Engineer.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Knowledge of agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, drainage systems, and farm infrastructure design.
- Experience using engineering design software and computer-aided design (CAD) applications is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of soil conservation, water management, and sustainable agricultural practices.
- Ability to prepare engineering plans, technical reports, and project documentation.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and improve agricultural machinery and equipment, including tractors, harvesters, and crop-processing systems using engineering software.
- Plan and design efficient irrigation, drainage, and flood control systems to optimize water use and protect agricultural land.
- Develop engineering solutions to improve crop production, soil conservation, and farm productivity.
- Design and supervise the construction of agricultural facilities such as barns, greenhouses, livestock buildings, storage silos, warehouses, and farm infrastructure.
- Conduct engineering assessments and recommend improvements to agricultural equipment and farm operations.
- Evaluate machinery performance and implement maintenance and equipment optimization programs.
- Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, project reports, and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with agricultural engineering standards, environmental regulations, and workplace safety requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, farmers, and other engineering professionals during project planning and implementation.
- Monitor project progress and provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and operation.
- Promote sustainable farming practices through efficient resource management and innovative engineering solutions.
- Perform other agricultural engineering duties assigned by management.
