Linda & Lydia Employment Agency (LLEA) is seeking an experienced and skilled Chef to lead food preparation and kitchen operations in Brunei. This opportunity is ideal for culinary professionals with a diploma, degree, or relevant certifications, extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, and at least three years of professional chef experience.

CHEF

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or relevant culinary certifications.
• Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, food safety, and kitchen operations.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Chef.
• Strong culinary, organizational, leadership, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Creative, detail-oriented, disciplined, and committed to maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes, menus, and quality standards.
• Plan and organize daily food preparation, cooking, and kitchen activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Develop and maintain high standards of food quality, taste, presentation, freshness, and portion control.
• Select, inspect, and prepare ingredients to ensure freshness and suitability for cooking.
• Apply appropriate cooking methods, techniques, seasoning, and presentation for different dishes.
• Assist in menu planning and recommend new dishes, recipes, and food preparation ideas when required.
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during food preparation and service.
• Assign kitchen tasks and provide guidance to cooks, kitchen helpers, and other food preparation staff.
• Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Ensure proper food storage, handling, preparation, and temperature control in accordance with food safety standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the ordering and replenishment of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Minimize food waste through proper portioning, storage, preparation, and inventory management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen, including workstations, equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and tools are used safely and properly maintained.
• Follow food safety regulations, hygiene requirements, workplace safety procedures, and company standards.
• Perform other culinary, kitchen management, and food preparation duties assigned by management.
