Stellar New Zealand Ltd. is currently seeking experienced and safety-oriented Asphalt / Paver Operators for deployment to New Zealand. The successful candidate will support road construction projects through skilled operation of asphalt paving and compaction equipment.

ASPHALT/PAVER OPERATOR

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in asphalt paving and road construction work.
  • Skilled in operating asphalt equipment including:
    • Drum Rollers (Hamm brand, 8–10T)
    • Asphalt Pavers such as the Vögele 1800 or similar models
  • Experience in both asphalt laying and paver operation is required.
  • Must understand basic road construction processes and site safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a construction team.
  • Good English communication and comprehension skills.
  • IELTS or PTE passer required.
  • High school level applicants may apply.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor construction environments.
  • Responsible, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate asphalt pavers and rollers during road construction and paving activities.
  • Assist in laying, spreading, leveling, and compacting asphalt surfaces efficiently.
  • Ensure smooth finishing and proper quality of road surfaces according to project standards.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections before and after operations.
  • Monitor paving thickness, alignment, and surface quality during paving activities.
  • Follow site supervisor instructions, operational procedures, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with construction crews, truck drivers, and supervisors to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety concerns immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of machinery and work areas.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with occupational health and safety standards at all times.
