Stellar Recruitment (NZ) Limited is seeking highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanics specializing in heavy lifting machinery for operations in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex heavy-duty equipment used in construction, industrial lifting, and logistics operations.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Heavy Lifters)
Qualifications:
- Preferably not more than 50 years old
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience
- Experience working with heavy lifting equipment and complex machinery systems
- OEM or manufacturer training is an advantage
- Overseas and locally employed candidates are welcome
- Must provide verifiable proof of employment experience
- Strong knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and industrial electrical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and fluid power systems
- Strong commitment to safety, precision, and quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and in high-pressure environments
- Torque systems and massive lifting capacity machinery
- Advanced hydraulic and fluid power systems
- Heavy structural mechanical systems and safety control systems
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of heavy lifting equipment and industrial machinery
- Work on low RPM, high torque industrial engines
- Maintain and repair high-pressure hydraulic systems (multi-stage pumps, 5000+ PSI systems)
- Troubleshoot and service electronic systems including Load Moment Indicators (LMI), safety limiters, and anti-two block systems
- Repair and maintain structural and mechanical components such as boom sections, outriggers, tracks, and winches
- Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns and downtime
- Maintain accurate service reports and documentation
- Respond to breakdowns and perform urgent field repairs when required
