SUSHI CHEF

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of working experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role.
• Culinary training or apprenticeship preferred but no minimum educational requirement.
• Proven experience in Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques.
• Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper seafood handling.
• Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Creative, team-oriented, and able to assist in menu planning.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including sushi, sashimi, nigiri, maki rolls, and specialty rolls.
• Ensure freshness and proper storage of fish, seafood, rice, and other ingredients.
• Maintain excellent knife skills for precise cutting and attractive presentation.
• Follow both traditional and modern sushi preparation techniques.
• Create visually appealing plates and maintain high standards of food presentation.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and consistency in preparation.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Follow all health regulations and safe seafood handling procedures.
• Assist in menu development, including daily specials and seasonal offerings.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
