Rigger and Trussing Technician

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Metal Fabrication, Tool and Die, Welding, Personal Services, Building and Ground Services, or a related field.
  • Must have at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must have hands-on experience in event trussing and rigging.
  • Must have a good understanding of truss systems, hoists, motors, rigging hardware, and suspension methods.
  • Must be able to understand and follow rigging plans and load requirements.
  • Must understand the importance of equipment inspections, load limits, and safety procedures.
  • Must be physically capable of performing rigging setup, equipment handling, and dismantling duties.
  • Male applicants are preferred for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, assemble, and dismantle trussing structures and rigging systems for events and productions.
  • Set up truss structures to support lighting fixtures, LED screens, audio equipment, banners, and other event equipment.
  • Install, operate, and assist with the maintenance of hoists, motors, rigging hardware, and related equipment.
  • Read and follow rigging plans, technical drawings, suspension methods, and load requirements.
  • Inspect trusses, hoists, motors, cables, connectors, and rigging hardware before use.
  • Ensure that rigging equipment is properly installed, secured, and operated in accordance with safety procedures and approved load limits.
  • Coordinate with event production, lighting, audio, and technical teams to ensure proper equipment installation.
  • Assist with troubleshooting rigging equipment and resolving setup issues.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures when working at heights and handling heavy equipment.
  • Dismantle and store trussing and rigging equipment properly after events.
