PIPE FITTER
Qualifications:
- Recent and relevant work experience of at least 5 years.
- Experience in lay outs, install and maintenance of piping systems like steam heat and power, hot water, hydraulic, air pressure and oil lines, follow isometric drawings and use of hand tools.
- Experience in planning layout of pipe sections allowing for conformance to specifications, holes and obstructions.
- Ability to operate shop machines to cut and thread pipe and pipe fittings like valves, traps and thermostats.
- Able to bolt or weld pipe brackets to support pipe systems, connecting pipes to fixtures like radiators, laundry and galley equipment, pumps, tanks.
- Test installed systems for leaks and ensure that systems meet specifications using hydrostatic pressure test equipment.
- Isometric drawing reading and interpretation, troubleshooting, schematic drawing reading, dimension control and understanding and knowledge of quality control.
- Safety certification and experience of working in confined spaces or at height is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Performing construction and repair on new build and upgrade projects within the heavy industries environment.
