ROOFER
Qualifications:
- Must have UKVI IELTS with a score of 4.0 per category
- Carpentry TESDA NCII or Trade Test Certificates is a MUST!
- Must have appropriate Safety & Hazard Training Certificates
- Competent in measuring roof or exterior wall and calculates required amounts of underfelt, tiles, slates or thatching material;
- Competent in cutting wooden battens, felt and underfelt to required size;
- Competent in laying and securing underfelt and covers with hot bitumen or other adhesive compound;
- Keen on laying, aligning and securing successive overlapping layers of roofing material;
- Competent in sealing edges of roof with mortar and ensures that joints are watertight.
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and to move objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting the structure of roofs in order to determine the best course of action.
- Providing clients with estimates on labor costs and materials required to fix or build a roof.
- Measuring and cutting materials to ensure that they fit securely around vents, gutters, chimneys, and walls.
- Smoothing out rough spots on roofs to prepare the surface for new shingles or waterproofing.
- Replacing areas of clients’ roofs that are damaged or rotting.
