ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Male Applicants
• Minimum of 5 year work experience
• Ability to read and understand schematics, written procedures, technical drawings and technical specifications.
• Ability to dismantle and reassemble, various types of rotating equipment, including horizontal and vertical motors, generators, brakes, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, blowers, and fans.
• General knowledge of AC and DC motors, motors used in the drilling industry, Ex motors, mechanical and magnetic brakes, rotors and armatures, exciters, bearings, sleeves, shafts, seals, transformers, and other equipment.
• Knowledge of workshop hand tools and machine tools, when, and how, to use them effectively and safely.
• Detail Oriented
• Excellent Hand-Eye coordination
• Basic English communication.
• Strong work ethics
• Willing and able to perform critical site work activities when required

Responsibilities:

• Use most modern electrical testing tools
• Identify electrical faults within the electric rotating equipment
• Use appropriate electrical testing tools including power tools, test equipment and measuring instruments
• Identify different types of cables and wires and install all types of commonly used wiring and wiring accessories
• Install electrical equipment such as motors, controllers, switchgears, switchboards, busbars, transformers and control panels
• Carry out mechanical fitting and assembling works relevant to heavy current equipment, and machine or fabricate parts for such equipment
• Install meters, instruments, relays and protection equipment
• Read and interpret simple electrical specifications, wiring and circuit diagrams, and building plans
• Inspect, test, commission and maintain electrical installation and equipment
• Maintain and update Job cards
• Compliance with company’s QESH policy
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the manager
