HGV/PLANT MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, or Heavy Equipment Technician.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Heavy goods vehicles (HGV)
- Plant machinery
- Diesel engines
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults efficiently.
- Experience in preventive maintenance, servicing, and equipment inspections.
- Familiarity with workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service documentation, and mechanical schematics.
- Good English communication skills are preferred.
- Physically fit and capable of working in workshop and field environments.
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain HGVs, heavy equipment, and plant machinery.
- Perform preventive maintenance, servicing, inspections, and mechanical overhauls.
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system issues.
- Conduct testing and ensure machinery and vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
- Replace worn or defective components according to manufacturer and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and service documentation.
- Use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment properly and safely.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate with supervisors and operations teams regarding equipment conditions and repair schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of workshop tools and equipment.
