Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma/ Certificate in Heavy Equipment Mechanic/ Automotive Technology or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of how heavy duty machineries, engines, parts and systems work
  • 5-7 years experience in similar position, 2-3 years working overseas preferred
  • Specialized in cargo trucks, heavy duty forklifts, crane, spreader, side lifters, reach stackers and other container handling equipment with the ability to overhaul, calibrate, repair and troubleshoot hydraulic and electronic systems
  • Knowledge in a diverse series of machines/ engines in Hyster, TCM, Omega, Volvo, Hangcha, Haulmark, Steelbro, JCB, Linkbelt, Kalmar, Howo-Sino, Hino, Hova, Nissan, Kubota, Isuzu, Cummins and Caterpillar
  • Able to identify parts and interpret the schematic on equipment manuals
  • With driver’s license and willing to travel.
  • Can communicate in English well both in oral and written
  • Strong physical strength and analytical skills
  • Mature and firm decision maker
  • Hardworking and can work under pressure with the ability to remain calm in a stressful situation
  • Good working character with strong positive attitude

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and monitor condition of vehicles and machines daily
  • Ensure vehicles and machines are on operational status
  • Detect faulty items, determine causes of malfunction and determine the best methods
  • Assemble, disassemble, repair, rebuild or modify components and various interconnected systems
  • Repairs include integration of electrical, hydraulic and electronic systems
  • Identify parts and interpret schematic diagrams on equipment manuals as part of troubleshooting
  • Spare parts sourcing when required
