Mechanical Technician I

Qualifications:

• Required: High School/Secondary: 12th grade with vocational training; 6+ years of Oil & Gas maintenance experience.
• Required: 2-Year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: 4+ years of Oil & Gas maintenance experience.
• Required: 3-Year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: 3+ years of Oil & Gas maintenance experience.
• Oil & Gas, Rotating Equipment, Maintenance, SAP, Senior Management, Executive Advanced knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to coach and mentor personnel.
• Advanced proficiency in computer skills
• Ability to drive pick-up truck as per Q-Chem regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and overhaul of all Mechanical equipment (including Furnaces, Boilers, Exchangers, Columns, Vessels, Tanks, Silos, Rotary/Reciprocating valves, Steam Traps, Valves, PRVs, ROs, Rotating components Pumps, Turbines, Compressors, Blowers, Fans, Gear Boxes, Machine Alignment etc.
• Ensure smooth and reliable operation of Analysers through implementation preventive maintenance programs and coordination of efforts with internal and external stakeholders in order to make sure that relevant maintenance works are completed in an effective and timely manner.
• Maintains high level of availability of the plant analyzers within area of responsibility and other areas whenever required.
• Carryout maintenance activities in an efficient and effective manner, in line with the annual business plans, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Complete all assignment of tasks, performance appraisal, trainings, and maintain proper tools and equipment in order to make sure the unit equipment perform reliably.
• Carry out troubleshooting of problems occurring in the units and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure the safety aspects of the organization like safety alerts, circulars, policy changes and medical circulars are read and understood correctly and follow them in their daily jobs.
• Conduct JSAs for all the critical and routine works and owns the process.
• Follow up to keep Safe work practices and having good knowledge of Operational Excellence.
• Attend and participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, RCA sessions, etc.
• Lead base load and temporary contractor so as to ensure safe and effective implementation of daily duties.
• Maintain proper records of all corrective / preventive maintenance jobs.
• Role model for safe behaviour and takes initiative to look for areas for improvement and implementing solutions in a mechanical area.
• Support emergency planned SDs & TA related maintenance activities.
• Assure proper alignment of shift teams with minimum of Supervisor, Labour, shoot equipment’s problems, troubleshooting and rectification to the level for cost/lead time of fixed duration and documentations if all issues.
• Support with Mechanical Engineer to Review Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs) and include all recent changes / lessons learned.
• Participate in and administrate / Review PHA/CM check list as required.
• Responsible to ensure the correct implementation of follow up action items from Accident / Near Accident Medium recommendations Reporting including near team recommendations / QSAFE action items in timely manner.
• Act as a DS on SDS during turnaround events or other similar situations.
• Support during plant shutdowns by ensuring the plant gets required parts/material required for the required timeframe / installation time.
• Support during Procurement services including coordination, Scope of work etc. & assist in technical evaluation of materials procured on time and within budget.
• Support Engineers / technicians in trouble shooting and field fixing of equipment.
• Liaise with Internal/External teams and lead walkdowns as required.
• Take part in Plant Internal/External audits as required and to complete audit action items before due dates.
• Inspect incoming equipment/spares/material into local warehouse by using proper tools and reference to ensure OEM manufacturer specifications.
• Liaise with Quality Assurance department as required.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
• Employment certificates
• NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
• PEOS certificate
