Electrical & HV Commissioning Supervisor

An Electrical & HV (High Voltage) Commissioning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the commissioning activities for electrical and high voltage systems and equipment in various industries such as power generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, manufacturing, and more. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, supervisory skills, hands-on experience, and a deep understanding of commissioning principles, standards, codes, and practices.

Qualifications:

• An associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Systems, High Voltage Engineering, or a related field is typically required. Coursework in electrical systems, high voltage technology, commissioning procedures, and relevant disciplines provides foundational knowledge and expertise.
• Obtaining relevant certifications such as Electrical Technician Certification, High Voltage Safety Training, or other industry-specific certifications can demonstrate proficiency, competence, and commitment to excellence in the field of commissioning and high voltage operations.

Technical Skills:

• Electrical Systems Knowledge: Solid understanding of electrical systems, equipment, components, and technologies, including high voltage systems, transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, protection devices, control systems, and associated infrastructure.
• Commissioning Procedures: Proficiency in executing commissioning plans, procedures, protocols, tests, and activities for electrical and high voltage systems and equipment under the guidance of a Commissioning Lead or Engineer.
• Testing and Validation: Experience in conducting tests, inspections, measurements, diagnostics, and validations during the commissioning process using specialized tools, equipment, instruments, and methodologies.
• Safety Protocols: Knowledge of safety practices, regulations, standards, and compliance requirements related to commissioning, electrical, and high voltage operations to ensure the safe and reliable activation, operation, and handover of systems and equipment.

Hands-On Experience:

• Field Experience: Relevant hands-on experience in electrical, high voltage, or commissioning roles, including exposure to commissioning processes, procedures, practices, equipment, tools, and field conditions within specific industries and applications.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated technical proficiency, practical skills, and competence in executing commissioning tasks, tests, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs related to electrical and high voltage systems and equipment.
