Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in TIG welding.
- Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication and fitting.
- Strong experience in TIG welding of aluminium and stainless steel from 1 to 6 mm thickness.
- MIG/MAG welding experience is an advantage.
- Proficient in independently reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in measurement and dimensional verification using calipers, measuring tapes, straight edges, and squares.
- Strong fitting skills, including component alignment, positioning, assembly, and preparation for welding.
- High attention to detail, particularly regarding weld appearance, precision, and finishing quality.
- Able to work independently and take a proactive approach to assigned tasks.
- Good understanding of welding safety, fabrication procedures, and quality requirements.
- Ready and willing to work two-shift schedules.
- Good proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Valid welding certificates are an advantage.
- Physically fit and able to work in an industrial production environment.
- Reliable, responsible, quality-conscious, and committed to meeting production requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG welding on aluminium and stainless steel components with material thicknesses ranging from approximately 1 to 6 mm.
- Fabricate and assemble tanks, protective structures, mechanical solutions, and other components from laser-cut and bent sheet metal parts.
- Fit and assemble various smaller components according to technical drawings and specified dimensions.
- Independently position, align, and fit components into the required shapes and dimensions before welding.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, welding symbols, and assembly instructions accurately.
- Prepare welding surfaces and components by cleaning, positioning, clamping, and aligning materials before welding.
- Perform TIG welding in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Select appropriate welding techniques and parameters based on material type, thickness, and component requirements.
- Maintain consistent weld appearance, penetration, strength, and dimensional accuracy.
- Conduct dimensional and geometric inspections of fabricated and welded components.
- Use measuring tools such as calipers, measuring tapes, straight edges, and squares to verify dimensions and alignment.
- Perform straightening, grinding, cleaning, deburring, and other finishing work as required.
- Identify and correct fitting, alignment, dimensional, and welding defects.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with technical drawings and required quality standards.
- Maintain welding machines, tools, measuring equipment, and workstations in good working condition.
- Follow production schedules and complete assigned fabrication and welding tasks efficiently.
- Work independently while coordinating effectively with supervisors, fitters, welders, and other production team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other welding, fitting, fabrication, and production duties assigned by the supervisor.
