Africa Atlantic Rubber Industry Limited is seeking an experienced and reliable Warehouse Officer to support efficient warehouse and logistics operations in Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and dispatching goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, organizing warehouse storage, updating WMS or ERP systems, and ensuring safe and orderly warehouse operations.
WAREHOUSE OFFICER
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience is required.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- University or college diploma or vocational training in warehouse operations, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
- Knowledge of inventory management, stock control, receiving, dispatch, and warehouse procedures.
- Experience in warehouse operations involving tire storage, handling, or movement is an advantage.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment; relevant license is preferred.
- Familiarity with WMS, ERP, or logistics management systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory counting and record-keeping.
- Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate stock records.
- Good understanding of warehouse organization, space optimization, and FIFO/FEFO inventory practices.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and proper material-handling procedures.
- Physically capable of safely handling, lifting, moving, and storing tires and other warehouse materials.
- Good English communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, organized, responsible, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, delivery documents, and expected quantities.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage, shortages, discrepancies, or other quality issues.
- Record and report receiving discrepancies promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate the orderly, accurate, and timely dispatch of finished goods.
- Ensure outgoing shipments are properly documented, checked, packed, and prepared for delivery.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with annual physical stocktakes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies immediately.
- Monitor stock movements, including receipts, transfers, picking, dispatches, and returns.
- Organize warehouse storage areas to maximize available space and improve operational efficiency.
- Apply proper inventory placement and rotation techniques, including FIFO/FEFO, where applicable.
- Maintain organized picking locations and optimize warehouse picking paths.
- Ensure tires and other warehouse materials are stored securely and systematically.
- Update the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP system in real time to reflect accurate inventory movements.
- Verify system records against physical stock and supporting warehouse documents.
- Prepare and maintain inventory, receiving, dispatch, and stock movement records.
- Assist in monitoring stock levels and identifying items requiring replenishment or further action.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment when authorized and properly licensed.
- Ensure material-handling equipment is used safely and report defects or operational problems.
- Coordinate or schedule routine maintenance of forklifts and other warehouse equipment as required.
- Enforce warehouse safety procedures and ensure compliance with applicable workplace regulations.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and properly organized warehouse areas in accordance with 5S principles.
- Follow proper procedures for lifting, handling, storing, and moving tires and other materials.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and promote safe working practices.
- Coordinate with logistics, production, purchasing, sales, and other departments to support smooth warehouse operations.
- Perform other warehouse, inventory, and logistics duties assigned by management.
