TRACTOR MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 5 years of relevant work experience as a Tractor Mechanic, Agricultural Mechanic, or in a similar field.
- Must have completed at least one (1) year of college or a one-year vocational course.
- Must have proven experience in servicing and performing preventative maintenance on farm machinery, including tractors, headers, air seeders, and spray rigs.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems used in agricultural equipment.
- Ability to diagnose faults and perform effective repairs.
- Good record-keeping skills and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and capable of working in agricultural and workshop environments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on farm machinery, including tractors, headers, air seeders, and spray rigs.
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on transport equipment, including prime movers, grain trailers, and livestock trailers.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on agricultural machinery and related equipment.
- Maintain and repair auxiliary equipment such as pumps, trailers, utility vehicles (Utes), and small engines.
- Inspect machinery and equipment to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
- Keep accurate service records, maintenance logs, and parts usage records.
- Order and manage spare parts, tools, and consumable stock as required.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with workplace safety standards.
- Perform other mechanical duties as assigned by the employer.
