Evans Industries Limited is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to oversee molding operations in a PET and HDPE bottle-blowing manufacturing facility in Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing molding activities, production planning, tooling, machinery maintenance, quality control, process optimization, raw material availability, workforce allocation, and health, safety, and environmental compliance. The role requires extensive hands-on experience in blow molding operations combined with strong manufacturing management and team leadership skills.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience.
• Bachelor’s / College Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in a PET and HDPE bottle-blowing factory.
• At least 5 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory position within a manufacturing plant.
• Exceptional expertise in blow molding machine setup, troubleshooting, production scheduling, and team management.
• Strong knowledge of PET and HDPE bottle-blowing processes, molding equipment, tooling, molds, and production parameters.
• Proven ability to manage preventive maintenance and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and production processes.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing workflow planning, plant capacity utilization, production scheduling, and manpower allocation.
• Knowledge of quality-control systems, product specifications, SOP development, and process improvement.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Able to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced manufacturing plant environment.
• Open to Filipino expatriates, with prior overseas deployment or international work experience preferred.
• Must have the maturity, physical capability, and professional discipline required to manage a highly demanding manufacturing plant environment.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, environmental compliance, product quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all molding activities, including mold design, fabrication, testing, tooling, machine parameter settings, product specifications, and product aesthetics.
• Supervise PET and HDPE bottle-blowing operations to ensure efficient, consistent, and high-quality production.
• Set, monitor, and optimize blow molding machine parameters according to product specifications and approved production requirements.
• Troubleshoot molding machines, tooling, molds, and production processes to minimize downtime and manufacturing defects.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs and regular servicing of all molding machinery and related production equipment.
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure machinery is properly maintained and available for production.
• Formulate, document, and implement quality-control standards for mold materials, production processes, and finished products.
• Monitor product quality, dimensional accuracy, appearance, functionality, and compliance with established specifications.
• Identify production problems and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and process efficiency.
• Schedule manufacturing workflows based on sales forecasts, customer orders, production capacity, and available resources.
• Analyze plant capacity data and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling requirements, equipment utilization, and human-resource allocation.
• Plan assembly sequences, installation steps, production activities, and workflow schedules across molding sections.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for molding and related manufacturing operations.
• Ensure the constant availability of required raw materials, components, molds, tooling, and production supplies.
• Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, production, and management teams to prevent material shortages and production interruptions.
• Monitor production output, machine utilization, downtime, waste, and other key manufacturing performance indicators.
• Allocate manpower effectively according to production schedules, machine requirements, workload, and employee capabilities.
• Lead, supervise, train, and develop production and technical personnel to maintain high standards of performance and workmanship.
• Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations across all production lines and work areas.
• Ensure employees properly follow safety procedures, machine operating requirements, PPE requirements, and environmental controls.
• Work closely with factory leadership and staff to ensure smooth, efficient, safe, and profitable plant operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce manufacturing costs, minimize waste, and optimize resource utilization.
• Prepare and maintain technical, production, maintenance, quality, and operational reports as required by management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, technical standards, manufacturing procedures, and applicable workplace regulations.
