STERILIZATION TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a Sterilization Technician or in a similar healthcare role.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
• Strong knowledge of sterilization processes, infection prevention, and instrument handling.
• Experience operating sterilization equipment and monitoring sterilization cycles.
• Familiarity with biological, chemical, and mechanical sterilization indicators.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Clean, disinfect, inspect, package, sterilize, and store medical and dental instruments and equipment.
• Operate sterilization equipment in accordance with established procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of sterilization equipment and report any malfunctions promptly.
• Monitor sterilization cycles using biological, chemical, and mechanical indicators to verify effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and distribution of sterile instruments and supplies.
• Follow international infection prevention and control guidelines to ensure the safety of patients and healthcare staff.
• Ensure compliance with international sterilization standards and quality assurance procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare personnel to ensure the timely availability of sterile instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
