Steel Welder

Qualifications:

• Vocational Diploma, short course certificate, or diploma in a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of shipyard welding experience involving ship or submarine structures.
• Experience with IACS welding standards and inspection requirements.
• Mastery of vertical, overhead, and flat-position welding.
• Hands-on experience with ceramic backing and ceramic backing butt welds.
• Proficiency in FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW welding processes for steel plates and profiles.
• Ability to follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) rigorously.
• Male applicants are preferred for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding on steel plates and profiles used in ship and submarine structures.
• Carry out welding using Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) processes.
• Perform vertical, overhead, and flat-position welding according to project specifications.
• Apply ceramic backing techniques, including ceramic backing butt welds.
• Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) rigorously.
• Ensure welding work complies with applicable IACS welding standards and inspection requirements.
• Maintain quality and safety standards throughout welding operations.
