SPECIALIZED DIESEL PUMP TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Technical Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Heavy Equipment Technology, Diesel Mechanics, Hydraulics, or a related field.
  • Must have proven hands-on experience in diesel pump maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and servicing.
  • Experience with heavy equipment maintenance, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, dump trucks, or similar machinery, is highly advantageous.
  • Must be capable of diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, gears, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, heavy equipment, trucks, and diesel pumps.
  • Experience with crusher plants, hydraulic systems, and diesel-powered pumps is an advantage.
  • Experience in construction or infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
  • Must have strong mechanical and diesel engine troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems used in diesel-powered equipment is an advantage.
  • A valid driving license is an advantage, where applicable.
  • Must be safety-conscious and capable of working in demanding construction, industrial, and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered pumps and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, and exhaust components.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel pumps to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults affecting diesel-powered pumping systems.
  • Inspect and maintain hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, hoses, cylinders, and related components.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical components such as engines, gears, transmissions, and drive systems.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on diesel pump control systems and related heavy equipment.
  • Conduct pump testing and performance checks following maintenance or repair work.
  • Identify leaks, abnormal noises, overheating, pressure problems, and other signs of equipment malfunction.
  • Replace worn or damaged components and ensure equipment is properly assembled and operational.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and replaced parts.
  • Follow established workplace safety procedures and equipment maintenance standards.
