SALAD CHEF
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of working experience as a Salad Chef, Commis Chef, or in a related kitchen role.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Strong knowledge of salad preparation, cold kitchen operations, and food presentation.
- Familiarity with herbs, vegetables, fruits, cheeses, proteins, and dressings used in cold dishes.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and coordination skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Must possess a passport with at least two and a half (2.5) years validity remaining.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of salads, cold appetizers, dressings, and garnishes according to recipes and restaurant standards.
- Handle and prepare fresh ingredients such as vegetables, fruits, herbs, cheeses, and proteins.
- Ensure proper portioning, presentation, and consistency of all salad and cold food items.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen hygiene at all times.
- Follow proper storage and handling procedures for fresh and perishable ingredients.
- Assist senior chefs (Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Head Chef) in daily kitchen operations.
- Support training and guidance of junior kitchen staff and Commis chefs when required.
- Prepare mise en place for cold kitchen operations efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and report shortages or quality issues to supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with kitchen standards, recipes, and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation, tools, and equipment.
- Coordinate with kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and service of dishes.
