Fone Haus Limited, Papua New Guinea’s leading retailer and distributor of mobile phones and accessories, is seeking an experienced Retail Buyer to manage product sourcing and procurement for its retail operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting and purchasing products that align with market demand, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the availability of high-quality products that support the company’s sales and profitability objectives.

Retail Buyer

Qualifications:

• Filipino applicants only.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Retail Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Retail Buyer or in a similar purchasing or procurement role with a reputable company.
• Experience in the consumer electronics, mobile phone, telecommunications, or retail industry is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, merchandising, and supplier relationship management.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience with ERP or inventory management systems is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple product categories and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Must possess a passport valid for at least two (2) years.

Responsibilities: 

• Source, evaluate, and purchase mobile phones, tablets, accessories, and related retail products from approved suppliers.
• Analyze sales trends, customer demand, and market conditions to determine purchasing requirements and product assortment.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and supply agreements with vendors to achieve cost-effective procurement.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers and manufacturers.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and retail operations to ensure timely stock replenishment.
• Forecast product demand and prepare purchasing plans to support business growth and seasonal promotions.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, delivery, and service standards.
• Coordinate with marketing and retail operations teams on product launches, promotions, and merchandising initiatives.
• Monitor product life cycles and recommend new products or discontinuation of slow-moving items.
• Prepare purchasing reports, inventory analyses, and supplier performance evaluations for management.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, budgets, and purchasing procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize product profitability.
• Perform other procurement and merchandising duties assigned by management.
