Stellar New Zealand Ltd. is seeking an experienced Production Technician to support manufacturing and production operations in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating production equipment, monitoring manufacturing processes, maintaining product quality, and ensuring production activities are completed safely and efficiently. Experience in precast, plant operations, or manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in the same field.
- Experience in precast, plant operations, or manufacturing companies is preferred.
- Relevant overseas work experience is an advantage.
- Practical experience operating production machinery, plant equipment, or manufacturing equipment.
- Good understanding of production processes, equipment operation, material handling, and quality control.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, production schedules, specifications, and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to identify production issues, equipment problems, and product defects.
- Basic troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills are an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent product quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety requirements.
- Physically fit and capable of performing production and plant-related duties.
- Must be willing to take the IELTS/PTE examination.
- Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and safety-conscious.
Responsibilities:
- Operate production machinery, plant equipment, and tools according to established procedures.
- Perform production and manufacturing tasks efficiently while meeting required output and quality standards.
- Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure smooth and continuous operations.
- Prepare materials, tools, equipment, and work areas for daily production activities.
- Follow production schedules, work instructions, technical specifications, and established operating procedures.
- Assist with the production, assembly, processing, or finishing of manufactured products as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of materials, products, machinery, and equipment during production.
- Identify product defects, equipment problems, production delays, and other operational issues and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments to production equipment within the authorized scope of work.
- Operate plant and manufacturing equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, cleaning, and routine maintenance activities.
- Ensure materials are handled, stored, and moved safely throughout the production process.
- Maintain accurate production records, inspection results, and other required documentation.
- Monitor production quality and ensure finished products meet established specifications.
- Minimize material waste and improve production efficiency through proper handling and operation of equipment.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe production areas in accordance with workplace requirements.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work closely with supervisors, technicians, machine operators, and other production personnel to meet daily production targets.
- Participate in preventive maintenance and report equipment conditions that may affect production.
- Follow company policies and procedures relating to quality, safety, environmental requirements, and production operations.
- Complete assigned tasks within required timeframes and production schedules.
- Perform other production, plant operation, and manufacturing duties as assigned.
