Pottery & Ceramic Specialist

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or advanced qualification in Fine Arts, Craft and Design, Ceramics, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating pottery and ceramic craftsmanship is highly valued.
• Proficiency in a wide range of ceramic and pottery techniques, from concept development to finished products.
• Experience in clay preparation, wheel throwing, hand-building, molding, glazing, decorating, and kiln firing.
• Excellent attention to detail and artistic creativity.
• Ability to create unique pottery and ceramic pieces that reflect authenticity, elegance, and cultural identity.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods, lifting clay materials, and performing detailed manual work.
• Hardworking, reliable, responsible, trustworthy, and able to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, create, and produce high-quality pottery and ceramic products according to artistic and commercial requirements.
• Develop concepts and transform creative ideas into finished ceramic pieces.
• Prepare clay, molds, glazes, and other materials required for production.
• Perform wheel throwing, hand-building, sculpting, carving, and decorative ceramic techniques.
• Apply glazing, painting, and finishing techniques to enhance the appearance and quality of products.
• Operate and monitor kilns to ensure proper firing temperatures and product quality.
• Inspect finished pieces for quality, consistency, and craftsmanship standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, kilns, and workstations in safe and efficient working condition.
• Experiment with new techniques, designs, and materials to develop innovative products.
• Collaborate with designers, artists, and production teams to meet project objectives and customer requirements.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and proper handling of ceramic materials and equipment.
