Abdulrahman Al Bader Sons Co For Trading and Contracting Co. is seeking an experienced Planning and Scheduling Engineer to support project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and progress management activities in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will develop and maintain project schedules, monitor actual progress against planned targets, analyze critical activities, and provide timely schedule updates and reports. Candidates must have extensive Saudi Aramco Oil & Gas experience and strong knowledge of project management, planning, scheduling, and progress control techniques.
PLANNING AND SCHEDULING ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Civil or Mechanical Engineering graduate.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in planning and scheduling.
- Saudi Aramco Oil & Gas experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of project management, planning, and scheduling techniques.
- Primavera P8.3 or higher certification is required.
- Proven experience in critical path analysis and project progress management systems.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling principles, activity sequencing, dependencies, milestones, and schedule control.
- Experienced in monitoring planned versus actual progress and analyzing schedule variances.
- Ability to develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera.
- Knowledge of manpower, material, equipment, and resource planning and monitoring.
- Ability to identify schedule risks, delays, constraints, and potential impacts on project completion.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in progress tracking and schedule reporting.
- Good communication and coordination skills with engineering, construction, procurement, and project management teams.
- Ability to prepare clear and accurate planning, scheduling, progress, and management reports.
- Able to work effectively under project deadlines and in a fast-paced Oil & Gas construction environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules in accordance with project requirements and approved execution plans.
- Prepare baseline schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and other project activities as applicable.
- Develop work breakdown structures (WBS), activity lists, logic relationships, milestones, and project schedules.
- Monitor actual project progress against approved schedules, targets, and planned completion dates.
- Collect and validate progress information from engineering, procurement, construction, and other project teams.
- Perform critical path analysis to identify activities that may affect project completion dates.
- Identify schedule delays, constraints, bottlenecks, and potential impacts on project milestones.
- Analyze schedule variances and recommend appropriate recovery or corrective actions.
- Prepare schedule updates, progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and management reports.
- Monitor planned versus actual manpower, equipment, materials, and work progress.
- Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, construction teams, procurement personnel, and project management to obtain accurate progress information.
- Track engineering deliverables, procurement activities, material deliveries, construction activities, inspections, testing, and other project milestones.
- Maintain accurate project progress records and ensure schedule data is current and reliable.
- Support project management in developing recovery schedules and revised execution plans when delays occur.
- Monitor critical and near-critical activities and communicate potential schedule risks to project management.
- Assist in evaluating the schedule impact of variations, change orders, additional work, and scope changes.
- Prepare short-term and medium-term planning schedules to support project execution.
- Conduct schedule reviews and provide recommendations to improve project performance and timely completion.
- Ensure planning and scheduling activities comply with project procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable Saudi Aramco requirements.
- Maintain organized planning documentation, schedule files, progress records, and supporting reports.
- Participate in project planning and progress meetings and provide updates on schedule status, critical activities, and potential delays.
- Perform other planning, scheduling, and project control duties assigned by management.
