Pipe Welder

Qualifications:

• Vocational Diploma, short course certificate, or diploma in a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of marine pipe welding experience, specifically in new ship and submarine construction.
• Active pipe welding certification or tickets issued under AWS or an IACS classification society.
• Expertise in 6G welding positions and orbital welding techniques.
• Proficiency in GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) welding processes.
• Experience welding stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper-nickel pipes.
• Familiarity with IACS classification society standards and inspection requirements.
• Knowledge of Visual Testing (VT) and Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), with basic knowledge of Radiographic Testing (RT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
• Male applicants are preferred for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Perform pipe welding for new ship and submarine construction projects.
• Weld stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper-nickel pipes using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/Stick) processes.
• Carry out welding in the 6G position and perform orbital welding when required.
• Follow approved welding procedures, technical specifications, and applicable IACS classification society standards.
• Conduct visual inspections of completed welds and support dye penetrant testing and other required inspection activities.
• Identify welding defects and ensure they are addressed in accordance with approved procedures.
• Maintain welding quality and workplace safety standards throughout operations.
