Asco Motors is seeking an experienced and skilled Panel Beater to perform automotive body repair and restoration work. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing damaged vehicle panels, restoring body alignment, replacing damaged components, and ensuring high-quality workmanship that meets safety and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Technical or Vocational qualification in Automotive Body Repair or a related field.
• Must have three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
• Skilled in dent removal, panel repair, body alignment, and panel replacement.
• Knowledge of welding and metal repair is an advantage.
• Must demonstrate attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.
• Good knowledge of automotive body repair methods and techniques.
• Ability to operate panel-beating tools, power tools, and other body repair equipment safely.
• Ability to accurately assess vehicle body damage and determine appropriate repair methods.
• Good understanding of vehicle body structures, panels, and repair procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper handling of tools and equipment.
• Able to work independently as well as coordinate effectively with other workshop personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect vehicles to assess the extent and type of body and panel damage.
• Repair dents, scratches, bends, and other forms of damage to vehicle body panels.
• Remove damaged panels and replace them with new or repaired components.
• Perform body alignment to restore vehicles to their proper shape and specifications.
• Straighten, reshape, and repair metal panels using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Carry out welding and metal repair work when required.
• Prepare repaired surfaces for further finishing, painting, or refinishing.
• Use panel-beating tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive body repair equipment safely and correctly.
• Ensure repaired panels are properly fitted, aligned, and securely installed.
• Follow manufacturer specifications and established repair procedures.
• Check completed repairs to ensure proper fit, finish, alignment, and overall quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Handle tools, equipment, and vehicle components with care.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures when performing repairs.
• Complete assigned repair work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Coordinate with other workshop personnel, including mechanics and painters, when necessary.
• Report additional damage or repair requirements identified during the repair process.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
