Daeah Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter for an overseas work opportunity in Mozambique. The successful candidate will be responsible for dismantling, servicing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining industrial mechanical equipment such as pumps, turbines, compressors, gearboxes, and industrial valves.

MECHANICAL FITTER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Practical experience in mechanical fitting, industrial maintenance, or equipment repair is highly relevant.
• Experience servicing and rebuilding industrial machinery is preferred.
• Knowledge of pumps, turbines, compressors, gearboxes, and industrial valves.
• Experience replacing seals, bearings, gaskets, and couplings.
• Knowledge of valve repair, lapping, and pressure testing.
• Ability to use mechanical tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Good mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail when assembling and repairing machinery.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and maintenance procedures.
• Willingness to work in Mozambique.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Disassemble, inspect, service, repair, and rebuild pumps, turbines, compressors, and gearboxes.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and identify worn or damaged components.
• Replace worn or defective seals, bearings, gaskets, couplings, and other mechanical components.
• Inspect mechanical equipment to determine repair and maintenance requirements.
• Reassemble machinery and equipment according to technical specifications and established procedures.
• Repair and service industrial valves, including:
  • Gate valves
  • Ball valves
  • Globe valves
  • Safety relief valves
• Lap and repair valve components to achieve proper sealing and performance.
• Conduct pressure testing of valves following established testing procedures.
• Check repaired equipment for proper alignment, operation, and performance.
• Use appropriate mechanical fitting tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment.
• Follow maintenance schedules and established mechanical repair procedures.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow company health and safety requirements when performing mechanical maintenance.
• Report equipment defects, major repairs, and safety concerns to supervisors.
• Perform other mechanical fitting and maintenance duties as assigned.
