QC PAINTING INSPECTOR

Qualifications:

  • Male applicants are preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in oil and gas or petrochemical plant projects.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the relevant inspection discipline.
  • Must hold certification from an internationally recognized organization, such as CSWIP, NACE, or an equivalent recognized certification, as applicable to the position.
  • Knowledge of industrial painting, surface preparation, protective coating systems, and coating inspection procedures.
  • Ability to interpret project specifications, inspection and test plans, coating procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with coating inspection instruments and quality documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect surface preparation, abrasive blasting, and coating application activities.
  • Verify that painting and coating work complies with approved procedures, technical specifications, and project quality requirements.
  • Check surface cleanliness, surface profile, and environmental conditions before coating application.
  • Monitor paint mixing, application methods, coating thickness, and curing requirements.
  • Perform or witness coating inspections and tests, including wet film thickness and dry film thickness measurements, as applicable.
  • Verify that coating materials are properly identified, stored, mixed, and applied according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Review inspection procedures, technical documents, material certificates, and quality records.
  • Identify coating defects, nonconformities, and deviations from approved specifications.
  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with quality control personnel, painting supervisors, contractors, and other project teams to resolve inspection issues.
  • Ensure painting and coating activities comply with applicable safety requirements and project quality standards.
