Disney Cruise Line is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join its Engineering Department onboard. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on marine machinery, medium-speed diesel engines, and associated mechanical systems. Working closely with the First Engineer and Senior Second Engineer, the Mechanic will help ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the vessel while maintaining Disney Cruise Line’s high standards for safety, maintenance, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year of experience working on a large cruise vessel.
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing medium-speed marine diesel engines.
- Strong background in mechanical fitting, machining, fabrication, sheet metal work, and pipe fabrication.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems such as AMOS is an advantage.
- Proficient in:
- Arc Welding
- Gas Welding
- MIG Welding
- TIG Welding
- Strong troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of marine engineering safety procedures and engine room operations.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a multicultural engineering team.
- Physically fit and capable of working in engine room and workshop environments.
- Willing to work onboard Disney Cruise Line under a rotational contract.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on medium-speed marine diesel engines and associated mechanical equipment.
- Assist the First Engineer and Senior Second Engineer in completing scheduled maintenance tasks using the AMOS Maintenance & Planned (M&P) System.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Carry out mechanical fitting, alignment, assembly, and disassembly of machinery and engine components.
- Perform general machining, fabrication, sheet metal work, and pipe fabrication as required.
- Execute welding operations using Arc, Gas, MIG, and TIG welding techniques.
- Manufacture or modify mechanical components using workshop equipment and machine tools.
- Assist with maintenance of pumps, valves, compressors, piping systems, auxiliary machinery, and other engine room equipment.
- Maintain engineering tools, workshop equipment, machinery, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of engineering spare parts, tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Be familiar with the location and operation of engineering safety equipment, including firefighting systems and emergency equipment.
- Participate in emergency drills and carry out assigned emergency response duties.
- Follow all company policies, maritime regulations, environmental procedures, and occupational health and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report completed work through the AMOS maintenance system.
- Perform other engineering and maintenance duties assigned by senior engineering officers.
