Material Controller
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of relevant Oil & Gas work experience is required.
- Experience in material control, inventory management, warehouse operations, or materials coordination is preferred.
- With a valid TESDA National Certificate (NC) related to the trade, where applicable.
- Proven ability to receive, inspect, record, store, issue, and monitor materials accurately.
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures and material tracking systems.
- Ability to verify materials against purchase orders, delivery documents, specifications, and project requirements.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory records and documentation.
- Ability to conduct physical stock counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Familiarity with Oil & Gas project environments, materials, equipment, and site procedures is an advantage.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with warehouse, procurement, engineering, construction, and project personnel.
- Good computer and documentation skills for maintaining inventory records and preparing reports.
- Knowledge of proper material storage, handling, identification, and preservation procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve material discrepancies promptly.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and capable of performing material-handling and warehouse-related duties when required.
- Reliable, disciplined, organized, and safety-conscious.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming materials, equipment, tools, and supplies delivered to the project site or warehouse.
- Inspect delivered materials for quantity, condition, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Verify materials against purchase orders, delivery notes, packing lists, and other relevant documents.
- Record all received, issued, transferred, returned, and consumed materials accurately.
- Maintain updated material and inventory records using appropriate systems, registers, or documentation.
- Properly label, identify, and organize materials to ensure easy retrieval and accurate tracking.
- Store materials in designated areas according to their type, specifications, handling requirements, and safety procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and identify materials that require replenishment.
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, construction, engineering, and project teams regarding material requirements.
- Issue materials to authorized personnel based on approved requests and project requirements.
- Track the movement and usage of materials from receipt through issuance and final utilization.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile actual stock against recorded quantities.
- Investigate and report discrepancies, shortages, damaged materials, or missing items.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage, deterioration, contamination, or loss.
- Maintain proper documentation and traceability of project materials and equipment.
- Monitor material availability to support uninterrupted project operations and prevent unnecessary delays.
- Prepare material status reports, inventory reports, and other documentation required by project management.
- Coordinate with supervisors and relevant departments to resolve material-related issues promptly.
- Follow applicable Oil & Gas project procedures, quality requirements, and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage and material-handling area.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe material-handling practices.
- Perform other material control, inventory, warehouse, and project-related duties assigned by management.
