MARINE FITTER
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as a Marine Fitter or in a similar marine engineering role.
- Experience in light industrial marine fitting is required.
- Experience working on new-build ferry or marine vessel projects is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with fabrication and engineering teams.
- Good understanding of mechanical fitting techniques, marine equipment installation, and engineering drawings.
- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Willing to take the IELTS examination upon hiring and achieve a minimum score of 4.0 in all categories.
- Must be able to obtain a Police Clearance.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Willing to comply with company policies, project requirements, and workplace safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Install, assemble, and fit mechanical components, piping systems, and marine equipment on new-build ferries and marine vessels.
- Work closely with the fabrication team to ensure accurate fitting and assembly of structural and mechanical components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical plans, and installation specifications.
- Measure, align, and install equipment with precision to ensure proper fit and functionality.
- Perform mechanical adjustments, inspections, and troubleshooting during installation.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure completed work complies with project specifications and marine industry standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to workplace health and safety regulations.
- Report installation progress, technical issues, and material requirements to supervisors.
- Assist with testing, commissioning, and final inspection of installed marine systems when required.
