Africa Atlantic Rubber Industry Limited is seeking a qualified and organized Logistic Officer to support transportation, shipment, and delivery operations in Nigeria. The successful candidate will coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, arrange transportation and delivery schedules, prepare logistics documentation, monitor deliveries, and maintain accurate transportation and logistics records.
LOGISTIC OFFICER
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Land Transport or similar fields.
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree or above in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of logistics operations, delivery procedures, shipment coordination, and transportation planning.
- Familiarity with ERP, WMS, or other logistics management systems is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, for maintaining records and preparing logistics reports.
- Ability to prepare and verify delivery notes, waybills, invoices, and other shipment documentation.
- Good understanding of safe handling and transportation of goods.
- Good English communication and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
- Well-organized, proactive, reliable, and capable of coordinating multiple logistics activities.
- Ability to work effectively with suppliers, transporters, drivers, warehouse personnel, customers, and other departments.
- Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced logistics and transportation environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and deliveries to ensure timely movement of goods.
- Arrange delivery schedules, vehicles, drivers, and other transportation requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, drivers, warehouse personnel, and customers regarding delivery arrangements.
- Prepare, verify, and maintain delivery notes, waybills, invoices, and other shipment documents.
- Check shipment details and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor shipments and deliveries from dispatch through final receipt.
- Track delivery schedules and promptly report delays, damages, shortages, or other shipment issues.
- Coordinate with drivers and transport providers to resolve delivery and transportation concerns.
- Ensure goods are handled, loaded, transported, and delivered safely and properly.
- Monitor transportation requirements and help ensure the appropriate vehicles are assigned for each delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, transportation activities, and vehicle assignments.
- Monitor transportation costs and assist in maintaining cost-effective logistics operations.
- Verify delivery completion and collect or maintain required proof-of-delivery documents.
- Prepare daily and monthly logistics reports covering shipments, deliveries, transportation activities, and related operational information.
- Update logistics, shipment, and inventory-related information in ERP, WMS, or other logistics systems when required.
- Coordinate closely with warehouse staff to ensure goods are properly prepared for dispatch and received upon delivery.
- Communicate shipment and delivery updates to relevant departments and customers.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies involving quantities, delivery documents, damages, shortages, or delivery schedules.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date logistics files and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures for transportation, shipment handling, documentation, and delivery.
- Assist in monitoring logistics performance and identifying operational issues requiring management attention.
- Perform other logistics, transportation, and administrative duties assigned by management.
