INDUSTRIAL SPRAY PAINTER / BLASTER PAINTER
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Blaster Painter or Industrial Spray Painter.
- Experience in the construction or mining industry.
- Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining industrial compressors.
- Experience operating abrasive blasting equipment and blast pots.
- Experience operating plural-component polyurea equipment.
- Experience operating industrial airless spray equipment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial protective coating systems, including epoxy, organic zinc-rich, polyurethane, and polyurea.
- Ability to perform equipment setup, pre-start inspections, routine maintenance, fault finding, and cleaning.
- Good understanding of abrasive blasting and industrial coating procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform abrasive blasting and industrial spray painting in accordance with project specifications.
- Prepare surfaces for coating by removing rust, corrosion, paint, scale, and other contaminants.
- Apply industrial protective coating systems, including epoxy, organic zinc-rich, polyurethane, and polyurea coatings.
- Operate and maintain industrial compressors, blasting equipment, blast pots, and spray-painting systems.
- Operate compressors including Atlas Copco XAMS850, XAS375, X-Air 410, and Hertz HGS 2-15.
- Operate abrasive blasting equipment such as ABSS 174L & APC500, Schmidt Amphiblast, and Blastmaster 100L and 180L blast pots.
- Operate plural-component polyurea equipment, including Graco HXP-3 Reactor, Graco Reactor 2 EXP-2, and Graco Reactor 3 HXP2 units.
- Operate airless spray equipment including Graco XL60-220, XL65DO, King XL70-180, King 220, X70, Titan Admiral Speedflo, and Chicago Air RP8626 units.
- Conduct equipment setup and pre-start inspections before beginning work.
- Perform routine maintenance, fault finding, cleaning, and servicing of blasting and coating equipment.
- Inspect surfaces and completed coatings to ensure they meet required quality standards.
- Follow project specifications, workplace procedures, and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Report equipment faults, coating defects, and safety concerns to supervisors.
- Work effectively with other trades and project teams.
- Perform other duties related to blasting and industrial coating as assigned.
