Fontana Sportveranstaltungs Gmbh is seeking an experienced and dedicated Green Keeper to support the daily maintenance and presentation of a professional golf course in Austria. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining turf and landscaped areas, operating specialized groundskeeping equipment, managing irrigation and watering activities, and assisting with daily golf course setup to ensure excellent playing conditions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
• High School Graduate at minimum.
• Proven experience in golf course or professional turf maintenance is highly preferred.
• Experience in golf course turf maintenance is highly preferred.
• Experience in golf greens maintenance is highly preferred.
• Experience in fairway and tee maintenance is highly preferred.
• Experience in bunker maintenance is highly preferred.
• Knowledge and practical experience with irrigation and watering systems is highly preferred.
• Experience with turf fertilization and pest/disease control is highly preferred.
• Skilled in operating ride-on and walk-behind mowers, brush cutters, trimmers, tractors, and other groundskeeping equipment.
• Knowledge of proper turf mowing, trimming, watering, and general maintenance practices.
• Able to identify common turf conditions, pests, diseases, weeds, and maintenance requirements.
• Physically fit and capable of performing outdoor manual work for extended periods.
• Able to work in varying weather and outdoor conditions.
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks such as walking, standing, bending, lifting, and operating machinery.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of golf course presentation.
• Able to follow maintenance schedules, technical instructions, and safety procedures.
• Responsible and careful when operating machinery and handling maintenance materials.
• Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and willing to work as part of a groundskeeping team.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to perform early morning, weekend, or holiday work when required by golf course operations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily maintenance of golf course greens, fairways, tees, roughs, collars, and approaches.
• Maintain turf areas to ensure proper playing conditions, appearance, and consistency.
• Operate ride-on and walk-behind mowers for routine turf mowing.
• Operate brush cutters, trimmers, tractors, and other golf course maintenance equipment.
• Perform mowing, trimming, edging, and general turf maintenance according to course requirements.
• Carry out irrigation and watering activities across designated golf course areas.
• Operate sprinkler and irrigation systems and monitor proper water distribution.
• Hand-water areas requiring additional attention to maintain healthy and consistent turf.
• Inspect irrigation equipment and report leaks, blockages, or other irrigation problems.
• Assist with golf greens maintenance, including maintaining appropriate turf height and playing surfaces.
• Perform maintenance of fairways, tees, roughs, collars, and approaches.
• Assist with bunker maintenance, including raking, cleaning, and maintaining bunker surfaces.
• Assist with turf fertilization and the application of approved turf care products as instructed.
• Monitor turf condition and report signs of pests, diseases, weeds, or other turf problems.
• Assist with pest and disease control activities according to established procedures.
• Remove leaves, debris, weeds, and other materials affecting the appearance or playability of the course.
• Assist with daily golf course setup, including changing holes and pins and positioning tee markers.
• Ensure golf course areas are properly presented and ready for daily play.
• Inspect and maintain groundskeeping tools, machinery, and equipment in good working condition.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of golf course machinery and equipment.
• Follow equipment operating procedures and manufacturer guidelines when using machinery.
• Maintain proper records or reports of maintenance activities when required.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
• Handle fertilizers, turf treatment products, fuel, and other maintenance materials safely.
• Keep equipment storage areas, work areas, and maintenance facilities clean and organized.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other groundskeeping staff to complete daily maintenance schedules.
• Perform other golf course maintenance and greenkeeping duties assigned by management.
