Australian Skilled Migration is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer for an overseas work opportunity in Australia. The successful candidate will support underground mining operations by applying geotechnical engineering principles to assess ground conditions, improve mine stability, and promote safe and efficient mining activities.
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the same or related field.
- Must have underground mining engineering experience.
- At least 1 year of college or a 1-year vocational course.
- Experience in underground mining environments is highly relevant to the position.
- Strong understanding of ground conditions, underground excavations, and ground support principles.
- Good analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with mining and engineering teams.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and mining regulations.
- Physically and mentally capable of working in an underground mining environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct geotechnical assessments of underground mining areas.
- Evaluate ground conditions and identify potential stability and safety risks.
- Support the design and implementation of ground support systems.
- Monitor ground movement, geological conditions, and underground excavations.
- Provide geotechnical recommendations to mining and engineering teams.
- Assist with underground mine planning and excavation design.
- Investigate ground-related incidents and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Review geological and geotechnical data to support safe mining decisions.
- Prepare technical reports, assessments, and geotechnical documentation.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor compliance with geotechnical recommendations.
- Work closely with mining engineers, geologists, surveyors, and other technical personnel.
- Apply appropriate safety procedures and mining standards at all times.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to ground control and underground mine safety.
- Perform other geotechnical and mining engineering duties as assigned.
