Furnace Operator

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Glazier is required.
• Experience handling machine and manual glass cutting is required.
• Proven ability to operate a glass processing furnace effectively and efficiently.
• Experience operating furnace in-feed and out-feed systems in both manual and automatic modes.
• Experience operating ASM, laser, washing, scanning, and heat soak equipment is required.
• Ability to perform heat soak loading and unloading operations safely and efficiently.
• Ability to operate furnace equipment in emergency mode according to established procedures.
• Good understanding of glass processing operations, furnace equipment, and related production systems.
• Ability to monitor equipment performance and identify operational abnormalities or potential problems.
• Strong attention to detail when monitoring furnace processes and inspecting finished glass products.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced glass manufacturing or processing environment.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety and safe handling of glass and high-temperature equipment.
• Ability to follow technical instructions, operating procedures, and production requirements.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to furnace and glass processing operations.
  Good communication and teamwork skills.
• IELTS passer with a minimum score of 5.0 in each category (Reading, Speaking, Listening, and Writing) is required.
• An IELTS band score above 5.0 is an advantage.
• Reliable, disciplined, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently while meeting production requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Operate the glass processing furnace effectively and efficiently according to established production procedures.
• Operate the furnace in-feed system in both manual and automatic modes.
• Operate ASM equipment associated with furnace in-feed operations.
• Operate laser equipment and washing systems in manual and automatic modes.
• Monitor furnace in-feed operations to ensure smooth and continuous material flow.
• Operate the furnace out-feed system in both manual and automatic modes.
• Operate scanners and ASM equipment associated with furnace out-feed operations.
• Perform heat soak loading and unloading operations in both manual and automatic modes.
• Monitor furnace temperature, processing conditions, and equipment performance during production.
• Ensure glass products are processed according to required production specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect processed glass for visible defects, damage, irregularities, or other quality concerns.
• Operate furnace and related equipment in emergency mode when required and in accordance with established emergency procedures.
• Respond promptly to equipment alarms, operational issues, and production abnormalities.
• Perform routine operational checks of furnace systems, scanners, ASM equipment, laser systems, washing equipment, and related machinery.
• Make appropriate operational adjustments to maintain efficient production and consistent product quality.
• Follow established procedures for starting, operating, monitoring, and shutting down furnace equipment.
• Safely handle glass materials during loading, processing, heat soak, and unloading operations.
• Minimize product damage and material waste through proper equipment operation and handling procedures.
• Report equipment malfunctions, production problems, quality issues, and safety concerns to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
• Maintain proper housekeeping around the furnace, production equipment, and work areas.
• Follow all workplace health and safety requirements, including safe operating procedures for high-temperature equipment and glass handling.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) when operating furnace and related production equipment.
• Coordinate with other production team members to maintain continuous workflow and meet production schedules.
• Perform other furnace operation, glass processing, and production duties as assigned.
