FABRICATOR
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of working experience is required.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Proven knowledge and experience in metal fabrication, fitting, cutting, bending, shaping, and assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, fabrication plans, and specifications.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, grinders, drills, cutting machines, presses, and other fabrication equipment.
- Ability to accurately measure, mark, cut, bend, shape, align, and assemble metal components.
- Knowledge of different types of metals, metal materials, and fabrication techniques.
- Good understanding of proper fitting, alignment, joint preparation, and component assembly.
- Ability to perform tack welding and basic welding activities when required and within qualifications.
- Ability to identify dimensional, alignment, fitting, and fabrication defects and make appropriate adjustments.
- Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work from measurements, drawings, specifications, and supervisor instructions.
- Physically fit and capable of handling and positioning metal materials and components safely.
- Familiarity with workshop safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with welders, engineers, supervisors, and other fabrication personnel.
- Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and committed to producing quality workmanship.
- TESDA certification or relevant technical/vocational training is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, fabrication plans, specifications, and work instructions.
- Measure, mark, cut, bend, shape, and assemble metal materials according to required dimensions and specifications.
- Prepare metal materials and components for fabrication, fitting, welding, and final assembly.
- Perform accurate measurements and layout work using appropriate measuring tools and equipment.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as cutting machines, grinders, drills, presses, and other hand and power tools.
- Set up and safely operate fabrication machinery according to the type of material and required work.
- Perform fitting and alignment of metal components before welding or final assembly.
- Position, secure, and assemble metal components to ensure proper dimensions, alignment, and fit-up.
- Perform tack welding and basic welding activities when required and within the worker’s qualifications.
- Work closely with welders to ensure proper fit-up, alignment, and preparation of components before final welding.
- Fabricate metal frames, supports, structures, brackets, assemblies, and other components according to approved drawings.
- Inspect fabricated components for correct measurements, dimensions, alignment, fit, and overall workmanship.
- Identify fabrication defects, dimensional errors, or alignment issues and perform necessary corrections.
- Repair, modify, adjust, or reinforce fabricated structures and components as required.
- Grind, smooth, clean, and finish fabricated metal surfaces as necessary.
- Handle and position metal materials safely using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Work closely with welders, engineers, supervisors, and other team members to complete fabrication projects efficiently.
- Maintain and properly use fabrication tools, machinery, measuring equipment, and other workshop equipment.
- Conduct basic checks and report damaged or malfunctioning tools and equipment to the supervisor.
- Minimize material waste through accurate measuring, cutting, layout, and efficient use of metal materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fabrication and workshop area.
- Follow workplace safety procedures, quality standards, hot-work requirements, and company policies.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing fabrication activities.
- Complete assigned fabrication work within required production schedules and deadlines.
- Perform other fabrication, fitting, assembly, and workshop duties assigned by the supervisor.
