ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN (Specialized in Heavy Equipment & Trucks)

Qualifications:

• Must have a Technical Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Heavy Equipment Technology, Diesel Mechanics, Hydraulics, or a related field.
• Must have proven hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and trucks.
• Experience working with excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, dump trucks, and other heavy machinery is highly preferred.
• Must have knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, wiring systems, batteries, charging systems, starting systems, lighting, sensors, and related components.
• Experience with crusher plants, hydraulic systems, and/or diesel-powered pumps is an advantage.
• Must be capable of diagnosing and repairing electrical systems associated with heavy equipment, trucks, diesel engines, and construction machinery.
• Experience in construction or infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
• A valid driving license is an advantage, where applicable.
• Must be safety-conscious and capable of working in demanding industrial and construction environments.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in heavy equipment and trucks.
• Perform electrical testing and identify faults in wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, lighting systems, sensors, switches, and control components.
• Diagnose and repair electrical problems affecting excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, dump trucks, and other heavy machinery.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems associated with diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Inspect electrical connections, wiring harnesses, fuses, relays, and other electrical components for damage or malfunction.
• Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe and operational.
• Use appropriate diagnostic and electrical testing tools to identify faults and verify completed repairs.
• Coordinate with mechanical and hydraulic technicians when electrical faults are related to other equipment systems.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and replaced electrical components.
• Follow established workplace safety procedures and equipment maintenance standards.
