ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• At least a high school graduate or holder of a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience in the plastic extrusion or thermoforming industry is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of PLC systems, with Siemens PLC experience preferred.
• Practical experience with VFD drives and industrial motor troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, wiring, and equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of temperature-control systems, including heaters, thermocouples, and temperature controllers.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Understanding of power distribution systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to diagnose electrical faults and perform systematic troubleshooting.
• Ability to safely use electrical testing instruments, hand tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Good understanding of industrial electrical safety standards and safe work practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and production emergencies.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on electrical maintenance work in a manufacturing environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical machinery and production systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults in machines, control panels, motors, sensors, switches, wiring, and related components.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based control systems, preferably Siemens PLC systems.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain VFD drives used for industrial motors and production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair industrial motor problems, including electrical connections, controls, and operating faults.
• Inspect and maintain temperature-control systems used in manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot heaters, thermocouples, temperature controllers, and related components.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, control diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Trace electrical circuits and identify the source of equipment malfunctions.
• Test electrical components and circuits using appropriate electrical testing instruments.
• Replace defective electrical components, wiring, switches, sensors, contactors, relays, fuses, and other parts as required.
• Inspect electrical panels, control cabinets, cables, connections, and distribution systems for proper operation and safety.
• Assist in the installation, modification, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and production machinery.
• Monitor machine performance and identify electrical problems that may cause production downtime.
• Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and perform necessary repairs to restore equipment operation.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, equipment faults, and replacement parts.
• Coordinate with machine operators, production personnel, mechanical technicians, and supervisors regarding equipment issues.
• Maintain electrical tools, testing instruments, spare parts, and maintenance equipment in good working condition.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe electrical maintenance work area.
• Follow industrial electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, PPE requirements, and company safety policies.
• Ensure electrical maintenance activities comply with applicable industrial safety standards.
• Perform other electrical maintenance and troubleshooting duties assigned by management.
