Have the expertise to maintain and repair diesel engines in marine environments? We’re hiring experienced Diesel Motor Mechanics (Marin) to service, diagnose, and overhaul engines and mechanical systems across marine vessels for leading employers.

DIESEL MOTOR MECHANIC

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic specializing in marine works.
• Solid experience with diesel engines, plant machinery repairs, and marine systems.
• Competence in using diagnostic tools and fault-finding methods.
• Experience with routine maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and bilge systems.
• Ability to operate and maintain diesel generators and onboard power systems.
• Must have a valid passport for international travel when required.
• English language proficiency: Must either be exempt from the English language test or have passed an IELTS or PTE Academic test.
• Effective English communication skills (both verbal and written).

Additional Skills and Requirements:

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging marine environment.
• Physically fit and capable of handling the demands of marine work.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and marine systems on vessels.
• Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and technical drawings to identify and fix faults in the engine and marine systems.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical (including 12V), and bilge systems.
• Operate and maintain diesel generators and onboard power systems.
• Monitor engine performance, ensuring that propulsion and auxiliary systems are operating efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards, both onboard and during repairs.
• Maintain accurate service logs and maintenance records for all work completed.
• Work with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to coordinate repairs and procure necessary parts.
• Assist with vessel operations, including loading and unloading.
• Preference for candidates experienced with vessels under 35m.
