BUYER (BUYER MANAGER)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
- Bachelor’s/College Degree holder in Business Studies, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Experience in FMCG, retail, wholesale, or distribution is highly desirable.
- Proven work experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Officer, Procurement Officer, or in a similar role.
- Proven ability to negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Strong ability to analyze pricing, product costs, sales data, inventory levels, and market trends.
- Strong supplier relationship management and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of purchasing, procurement, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
- Familiarity with ERP, purchasing, inventory management, or procurement systems.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Sales, Warehouse, Finance, and other departments.
- Detail-oriented, commercially aware, and capable of managing multiple purchasing activities and deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing plans aligned with company business objectives and product requirements.
- Source products from local and international suppliers based on business needs.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with potential new suppliers.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Maintain strong and professional relationships with existing suppliers.
- Monitor product availability, stock levels, sales trends, and customer demand.
- Ensure timely purchasing and replenishment to minimize stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Review supplier quotations and compare pricing, product quality, lead times, and delivery terms.
- Prepare and review purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor supplier performance, including pricing, quality, lead times, and delivery reliability.
- Analyze market trends and identify new products, alternative suppliers, and purchasing opportunities.
- Work closely with Sales, Warehouse, Finance, and other departments to ensure product availability and effective inventory management.
- Monitor product costs and identify opportunities to improve profit margins and reduce purchasing expenses.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures, and approval requirements.
- Assist in preparing purchasing budgets, forecasts, and procurement reports.
- Participate in product range reviews and recommend new products, alternatives, or replacements when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, quotations, and related documentation.
- Perform other purchasing and procurement-related duties as assigned.
