Auto Electrician

Qualifications:

• Strong practical experience in light-vehicle fault diagnosis, wiring repairs and automotive electronic systems.
• Ability to read automotive wiring diagrams and use electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Must have completed at least a one-year vocational course or at least one year of college
• Must have a Valid driver’s license to operate
• Experience in collision-repair workshops and modern vehicle electronics is an advantage.
• Applicants specializing only in heavy trucks, buses, earthmoving equipment or industrial machinery are not suitable for this light-vehicle role

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair and maintain electrical and electronic systems in passenger cars, SUVs, utes and light commercial vehicles.
• Use diagnostic scan tools, multimeters and wiring diagrams to identify electrical faults and resolve issues accurately.
• Inspect, test and repair wiring harnesses, connectors, fuses, relays, switches, sensors and electronic control systems.
• Diagnose and repair starting and charging systems, including starter motors, alternators and batteries.
• Troubleshoot lighting, indicators, power windows, central locking, infotainment and other vehicle electrical accessories.
• Inspect and repair accident-related electrical damage, coordinating with panel beaters, spray painters and mechanical technicians as required.
• Carry out electrical checks and functional testing following vehicle repairs and servicing.
• Identify required replacement parts and maintain accurate job cards, diagnostic findings and service records.
• Follow workshop safety procedures, manufacturer specifications and quality standards; work cooperatively with the workshop team.
