Interlink Shipping Line Pte. Ltd. is seeking a motivated and organized Assistant Operations Manager to support the planning, coordination, and supervision of daily shipping and logistics operations in Fiji. The successful candidate will assist the Operations Manager in ensuring efficient vessel operations, coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders, and maintaining compliance with maritime safety regulations and company standards.
ASSISTANT OPERATIONS MANAGER
Qualifications:
- Male or Female applicants are welcome to apply.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in the Shipping Industry or any related field.
- Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field is an advantage.
- Knowledge of shipping operations, logistics, and maritime safety practices is preferred.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic operational reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to work flexible hours when operational requirements demand.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Operations Manager in overseeing daily vessel and shipping operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Coordinate vessel schedules, cargo movements, and operational activities with ship crews, port authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor operational performance and assist in implementing strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Support the supervision of operational staff and ensure assigned tasks are completed according to company procedures.
- Assist in coordinating maintenance schedules and operational readiness with engineering and technical teams.
- Maintain accurate operational records, reports, schedules, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, maritime regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, contractors, and government agencies regarding operational requirements.
- Assist in resolving operational issues, delays, and customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Monitor inventory of operational supplies and coordinate procurement when necessary.
- Participate in operational meetings, inspections, audits, and emergency response activities.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Operations Manager or senior management.
