ASSISTANT ELECTRICIAN
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in paper mills, steel plants, cement factories, petrochemical plants, power stations, or similar heavy industries.
- Experience working in a pulp and paper or tissue mill is an advantage.
- Knowledge of LV motors, VFDs, MCCs, switchgear, instrumentation, PLC/SCADA systems (Siemens experience is an advantage).
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Must have a strong commitment to workplace safety and a safety-first approach.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preventive, predictive, and corrective electrical maintenance activities for industrial machinery and equipment.
- Support troubleshooting and repair of electrical faults in production systems.
- Assist in the maintenance of LV motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Motor Control Centers (MCCs), switchgear, and electrical panels.
- Support the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Assist in PLC/SCADA system checks and troubleshooting, with Siemens system experience considered an advantage.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify electrical issues and help prevent equipment downtime.
- Follow electrical safety procedures, company policies, and industrial safety standards.
- Maintain proper tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
- Provide support to electricians and maintenance teams during repair and maintenance activities.
- Perform other electrical-related duties assigned by the employer.
