AC Technician

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of technical or vocational education in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as an AC/HVAC Technician.
  • Experience in commercial, industrial, hotel, or resort environments is preferred.
  • Proven ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • Practical skills in refrigerant charging, leak detection, vacuuming, brazing, and refrigerant recovery.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system faults.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and HVAC equipment servicing standards.
  • Familiarity with HVAC tools, gauges, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Understanding of electrical safety, refrigerant handling, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, equipment specifications, and basic electrical or mechanical diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Physically fit to perform hands-on maintenance, lift equipment or components when necessary, and work in different site conditions.
  • Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment and cooling systems.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration faults using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
  • Repair or replace defective components, including compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, sensors, and electrical controls.
  • Inspect refrigerant lines, coils, valves, filters, and other system components for damage, leaks, or abnormal operation.
  • Perform refrigerant charging, leak detection, vacuuming, brazing, and refrigerant recovery in accordance with proper procedures.
  • Check refrigerant pressures, operating temperatures, airflow, and system performance to ensure efficient operation.
  • Clean air filters, evaporator coils, condenser coils, drain lines, and other HVAC components as required.
  • Test electrical connections, wiring, capacitors, contactors, relays, and control systems.
  • Identify the causes of equipment breakdowns and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Conduct functional tests after installation or repair to verify that systems operate safely and efficiently.
  • Follow equipment manuals, technical specifications, and manufacturer-recommended maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and replaced parts.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, gauges, meters, and HVAC diagnostic equipment safely and correctly.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and recovery of refrigerants and other materials.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Comply with company policies, workplace safety procedures, and applicable environmental requirements.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other maintenance personnel to complete assigned work.
  • Report major equipment defects, recurring faults, and repair requirements to the supervisor.
  • Perform other AC, HVAC, and refrigeration-related duties as assigned.
